The JLG print series incorporates selected excerpts of dialogue from the character Ferdinand, in Jean Luc Godard’s film, Pierrot le Fou. Godard opened up the structure of film with the use of voiceover, words, and other disjunctive texts and devices that interrupt and supplement the narrative. The visual structure of these print works uses the black fields to set up a film-like framework, or stage, that opens up the sentence into a series of parts.
